Trader Joe’s north of Vancouver city limits? Seems like it

Posted

Tell-tale signs of a Trader Joe’s opening in Salmon Creek keep popping up, but official word  from the company has yet to be made.

Currently, the only Clark County Trader Joe’s is at the Interstate 205 and Mill Plain Boulevard area, part of the shopping mall on Southeast Chkalov Drive in Vancouver.

Construction is underway for a second Trader Joe’s location in Clark County, one catering towards the northern half of county residents, however. The Trader Joe’s Company has applied for a total of six endorsement business licenses for the Skyview Station development in Salmon Creek.

As of Dec. 22 on the Washington Department of Revenue website, six endorsement applications have been filed, with three still pending under the entity of Trader Joe’s Company. The applications are for 14019 NE 10th Ave., Vancouver.

Shopkeeper, nursery retail plant seller/installer and minor work permits have already been issued for the location.

The pending endorsements are for beer and wine tasting, a combination grocery off premises for spirits, beer and wine, as well as direct shipment receiver in Washington only.

The Washington State Department of Revenue lists the applicant’s business name as Trader Joe’s #271.

If the six endorsement applications for new business licenses by the Trader Joe’s Company are approved, a Trader Joe’s at Salmon Creek’s Skyview Station will become a reality.

The Skyview Station project by Hurley Development is listed to be completed in 18 months, according to the project’s website. The development will feature a new anchor, retail and restaurant space along with drive-thru opportunities, the website states.

Currently, IQ Credit Union and Chipotle are headlining Skyview Station, as official word by Trader Joe’s is still pending.
