Carlie Price has been promoted to the position of head girls volleyball coach at Prairie High School.

Price, who coached the Falcons’ junior varsity last season, will replace Paige Person, who resigned for family reasons.

Price was born and raised in Clark County and currently teaches in the Evergreen School District. Price graduated from Columbia River High School and played volleyball at the University of Portland.

A veteran of 14 years of coaching, Price began as a club coach for the Athena Volleyball Academy and eventually moved on to coaching in the high school ranks for Vernonia, Woodland, Union, St. Mary’s Academy and Prairie.

I was lucky enough to be a part of a great program last year at Prairie as the JV coach and want to carry on the strong traditions that the volleyball coaches before me have created,’’ Price said. “I look forward to this upcoming season and working hard in the offseason to get us ready for the fall. I know I have a great group of athletes to work with as well as amazing parents who do so much to support the program and their student athletes.’’

Prairie advanced to the state Class 3A tournament last season where the Falcons went 1-2.

Carlie will bring a wealth of experience from coaching in several programs and playing at the Division I level,’’ said Prairie Athletic Director Andy Schoonover. “She is great working with students and will do an outstanding job.’’
