Prairie girls cross country team advances to state

By finishing in third place at bi-districts Oct. 27, the Prairie High School girls cross country team punched its ticket to Saturday’s state championship meet in Pasco.

Meri Dunford clinched fourth place for the Falcons at bi-districts with a time of 19:08. Andrea Cernuda-Herraiz notched 14th place (20:10), Mary Lynn McLeod earned 38th place (21:34), Sally Anderson followed in 40th place (21:36) and Alysia Fraly took 43rd place (21:41). Hannah Kneeshaw (22:48) and Hannah Clouse (23:59) will join their Prairie teammates at state.



Three Prairie boys also qualified for state. Luke Lund earned seventh place at bi-districts with a time of 16:41. Landon Gunter claimed 24th place (17:31) and Isaac Molton finished in 34th place (17:43).
