Ridgefield boys baseball (9-3 league, 16-6 overall) defeated number-one seed W.F. West (15-0 league, 20-2 overall) 1-0 in the 2A District Baseball Tournament semifinal game in Centralia on Wednesday.

The win hits big for the number-two seed Ridgefield, as the Bearcats were on a tear leading into the clash, beating Woodland 10-0 in the first round Tuesday.

Ridgefield’s Spencer Andersen pitched five innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out five batters. Jimmy Wallace pitched the final two innings, allowing no hits with two strikeouts.

The Spudders third baseman Clay Madsen scored the only run of the game. He stole home in the fifth inning.
