Amboy’s Fire District 10 station damaged

Over the weekend one of Clark County Fire District 10’s stations was damaged and authorities are investigating. Station 4, located at 9813 NE Cedar Creek Road, Amboy, is unmanned.

At about midnight Friday a neighbor heard a loud noise coming from the direction of the building. Later it was noticed that part of the brick wall on the front side of the building had been smashed. Fire Chief Sam Arola said authorities are looking into a possible case of vandalism. Last summer someone shot off a shotgun at the building.

“I don't believe anyone was trying to get in (in this case), nothing was stolen inside,” said Arola.

Arola said damage estimates are still being determined. So far investigators have found parts from a Nissan pickup truck next to the building, indicating a vehicle could have hit the wall.

Arola asked that people keep an eye out on the station and report any suspicious activity.
