Train rides with dad

The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad is hosting two steam excursions per day over Father’s Day weekend, June 15 and 16 — one at noon, the other at 2:30 p.m.

The railroad is taking out its 1929 steam locomotive for a seven-mile trip to Hesson. The trek includes a rock tunnel and a stop at Moulton Station to visit Yacolt Falls. 

Tickets are $22 for adults, $21 for military and seniors (60+) and $16 for those age 3 to 12.  Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.bycx.org/tick

Grab breakfast with dad 

Volunteers from North Country Emergency Medical Service are hosting  41st annual Father’s Day Breakfast from 8 - 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 16 at Yacolt Primary School, 406 W Yacolt Road, Yacolt.



The breakfast of scrambled eggs, ham and all-you-can-eat pancakes will be cooked and served by fire, EMS and rescue volunteers and costs $5 per person with price breaks for families. 

For extra fun, there will be a raffle for two gardening baskets, each containing one wheelbarrow and other gardening items. There will also be a raffle for a TV and other items for dad. All raffle proceeds support ambulance, fire and rescue services.

Catch a fun day with dad at Slugfest

West Coast Premier Tournaments is putting on a Father’s Day Slugfest from June 14 to 16 at Harmony Sports Complex, NE 192nd Ave at NE 18th street, Vancouver. Spend the day with dad as free admission for spectators gets you time to watch many youth baseball teams from around the Pacific Northwest play all day with four games per team guaranteed.
