In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the construction of Fort Vancouver by the Hudson Bay Company, local groups have been planning events at the fort, which will conclude in a big celebration and take place in 2025 as part of a partnership with the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts, the National Park Service, the City of Vancouver, and the Cowlitz tribe.

Last weekend, over 1,100 male and female members of the Boy Scouts from southwest Washington and east Portland gathered Friday through Sunday at the Fort Vancouver Historic Site for the Oregon Trail Camporee. Attendees toured the replica fort, participated in numerous activities, visited the Pearson Air Museum and enjoyed the sound of rain from their tents throughout the weekend.
