Battle Ground Art Alliance raises funds with opening reception

Posted

Battle Ground Art Alliance (BGAA) hosted a bustling opening reception for the “Our Universe” art exhibit on March 9. A silent auction during the reception raised funds for community art outreach.

BGAA plans to use the funds to provide artistic workshops and other opportunities for the community across Battle Ground, event organizer Lois Steiner said.

The exhibit will be open to the public until April 26 at the Battle Ground Community Library, 1207 SE Eighth Way, Battle Ground.

An artist reception will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at the library. Workshops and refreshments will be available throughout the event.

Workshops will include:

• Puzzle art for children from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Connie Ford. Ford will guide children to decorate puzzle pieces for collaborative art.

• Sidewalk chalk drawings from 11 a.m. to noon with Teresa Anderson. Adults and children are welcome to draw chalk art outside the library.

• Adult collages from noon to 2 p.m. with Holly Minnich. Some materials will be provided, but participants should bring their scissors, brushes or any other materials they would like to use.
