Search for eggs, prizes this Easter

The weather during Easter weekend can be unpredictable, but children and families can always depend on being able to find a Easter egg hunt or two to go to, rain or shine.

A number of area organizations, groups and clubs put on Easter egg hunts each year, as well as do a variety of churches. The Easter Bunny usually makes an appearance at just about every Easter egg hunt held.

This year, Easter falls on Sun., April 5. Many egg hunts are held on Easter or are being planned for Sat., April 4.

The following is a partial list of 2015 Easter egg hunts and other Easter festivities throughout the area:

Amboy

The North Clark Lions will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt Sat., April 4, at Amboy Territorial Park. Children up to the age of 10 will be able to start hunting for the 1,200 eggs at 10 a.m. There will be three separate areas for each age group. The 1-3 year olds will be hunting in the beer garden area; the 4-6 year olds will be in the trees by the entrance; and the 7-10 year olds will search in the logging arena. The Easter Bunny will be there to say hi to the children and there will be a free flower for each child. Special eggs may be turned in for a prize. Contact Rose Diment, rosediment@live.com.

Battle Ground

The Battle Ground Kiwanis Club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt Sat., April 4, starting with reading with Rose Princesses, kids’ games and petting zoo at 9 a.m., then egg “scramble” at 10 a.m., at Kiwanis Park, 422 SW 2nd Ave., Battle Ground. Brush Prairie

La Center

The La Center Lions Club will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast Sat., April 4, 8-10 a.m. breakfast, 10 a.m. egg hunt, at Holley Park Community Center, 1000 E. 4th St., La Center. Cost for breakfast is $5 or attendees can choose to donate more to the Lions Club. There will be a petting zoo and about 3,500 eggs to find. For information, visit www.lacenterlions.org.

Ridgefield

Mountain View Christian Center will hold their Easter Egg Hunt Wed., April 1, 5 p.m., at 2810 NE 259th St., Ridgefield. Vancouver

Autism Empowerment will hold its fourth annual Easter Egg Hunt for Acceptance of All Abilities Sat., April 4, noon-4 p.m., at McKenzie Stadium, 2205 NE 138th Ave., Vancouver. This Easter Egg Hunt, resource fair and afternoon of “eggstra” fun entertainment and acceptance is open to individuals of all ages with autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and special needs of any type. Families, friends and community members who want to promote inclusion are also welcome to attend.

There will be more than 14,000 plaster Easter eggs full of goodies for participants to find. Gates open at noon and there will be a few different scheduled egg hunts throughout the day for different groups. In addition to the egg hunt, other activities will be going on as well. There will be an Easter Bunny meet and greet with free digital photo, a raffle, Rojo the llama, Smokey the llama and friends, and much more.

Woodland

The Woodland Community Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Woodland Moose Lodge, will be held Sat., April 4, 10 a.m., at Horseshoe Lake Park in Woodland. Yacolt

The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Yacolt will be held Sat., April 4, 9 a.m., at the North County Little League Fields, 202 W. Christy St., Yacolt. Participating age groups include preschoolers, kindergarteners, first-second graders and third-fourth graders. There will be prizes for each group and the Easter Bunny will be present.
