Coming up during the month of May, the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will offer some special train rides for two holidays, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.
Mother’s Day Weekend Train Ride
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will kick off its 2016 season on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8. Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with a fun train ride for the whole family. The railroad offers a 13-mile round trip starting in Yacolt, going through the beautiful logging and farming country of north Clark County. The train stops at Moulton Station to visit Yacolt Falls.
Along the way, riders cross the Lewis River, see excellent views from the cliff-side vantage point and experience the thrill of riding through a 330-foot-long tunnel blasted out of solid rock.
The train departs at noon and 2:30 p.m. from the station in Yacolt, located at 207 N. Railroad Ave. Riders should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Reservations are recommended as space is limited.

Mother’s Day Saturday Dinner & Wine Train
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad in conjunction with Moulton Falls Winery will operate Saturday, May 7, with a special diesel dinner and wine train trip departing the Moulton Falls Winery at 5 p.m. The diesel train will pick up passengers at the winery, and proceed to the Heisson area, through a 330-foot tunnel then cross the East Fork of the Lewis River. On the return trip, the train will drop passengers back at the winery. Reservations are recommended as space is limited.
Dinner Train package tickets are available at Moulton Falls Winery during business hours or at www.tickettomato.com. Packages includes appetizers at 4 p.m., wine tasting, train boarding pass, dinner and music. The evening will feature JT & Rowdy Mountain all for $45. Board at the winery, located at 31101 NE Railroad Ave., Yacolt.

Memorial Day
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will run Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22. The excursion train runs to the Heisson area, through the tunnel, across the East Fork of the Lewis River with a stop at Moulton Station to visit Yacolt Falls.
