Battle Ground police, in partnership with Clark County Regional Drug and Safe Streets Task Forces, concluded a months-long investigation involving drug-related crimes by making three arrests on Friday, Oct. 13, at 1908 SW Sixth St. in Battle Ground, according to a city news release.

Arrested for possession of a controlled substance were Samuel Norton, 29, and Erica C. Tyler, 30. Arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver was Matthew  Norton, 25.

Officials reported that syringes were scattered around the house along with other drug paraphernalia. They also found $3,500 in cash and a loaded handgun.

The officers also found a 11-month old baby living in the filth. The child has since been placed under the care of a family member at the direction of Child Protective Services.

In a news release from the city, Police Chief Bob Richardson noted one nearby resident’s significant role in the investigation and eventual arrests.

"This individual contacted us and then provided key information over several months," he said. "(It was) information that aided our detectives in the investigation and the resulting arrests."

Charges were forwarded to the Clark County Prosecutor's Office.
