Transportation council calls for projects

The Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council is inviting public agencies in Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties to submit project applications for federal Transportation Alternatives grants. The council announced the opportunity Feb. 6 which would be awarded for projects “that expand travel choice, strengthen the local economy, improve quality of life and protect the environment.”

The council specifically called for proposals from local transit agencies, natural resource agencies, schools, and tribal governments in the three-county area. Applicants were advised to work with council staff to ensure federal and state requirements were met.

Applications will be due to the Regional Transportation Council on May 1. Qualifying activities, program requirements and other project information can be found at rtc.wa.gov/programs/tap.
