According to Clark County Fire District 6 and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, at around 3 p.m., May 21, a 79-year-old woman drove her Toyota Camry through the wall of a pizza parlor in a Hazel Dell building she owned.

The driver told investigators that her foot slipped off the brake onto the gas as she was pulling up to the building, sending her through the wall of Bortolamis Pizza. She was uninjured.

When first responders arrived, they found a patron pinned between the car and the restaurant’s counter. Firefighters freed the trapped woman by putting the car in neutral and rolling it backward. She was then transported to Legacy Salmon Creek hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One other patron suffered minor injuries.
