Organizers of Battle Ground Village’s Outdoor Market are celebrating fall with an “End of Summer Bash” on Sat., Sept. 28. 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the market in Battle Ground Village.

Rainbow Pony Rides will be at the market with their ponies and Dinoair will set up their bounce house in the Village’s Central Park if weather permits, and the bounces are free. Dance Fusion will perform, and there will be an “Odd & Ugly” Vegetable Contest.

Attendees should bring their odd and unusual vegetables to the Outdoor Market Sept. 28 and display them from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.. Entry forms will be available to write contact information. Judging will take place a little before 3 p.m. Cash prizes will be given for first, second and third place ($25, $10, $5).

St. Vincent de Paul’s Walk for the Poor will also stop by by the market as they walk their mile loop from the church. They will have information for interested contributors and refreshments for the participants.

Returning produce vendors and nurseries - Yacolt Mountain Farm and Nursery, Charter Oak Farm, Hill’s Naturally Grown, Jacki’s Heirloom Garden, Five Sprout Farm and ZK Flowers and Produce - are being joined by new-to-the-market farmers Foxglove Farms, Foxfire and Bonker Farm.

The Outdoor Market is also home to artisans and crafters who offer a wide range of items, from original handmade jewelry and wood art, to tutus and fused glass. In addition, Pasta Gigi’s will offer an assortment of flavored pastas for purchase, and Mother Earth’s Gifts and Pagoda Tea will sell fresh loose leaf teas.

“Most of our vendors work on a smaller scale which allows them to give greater attention to everything they create, produce or grow,” said Susan Walters, market manager. “They work from a place of passion and it shows in what they bring to the market. We are family and pet friendly, with live local musicians and kid activities, like face painting and pony rides. It’s a perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon - shopping, eating, relaxing and listening to music.”

Sept. 28 will be the last day of the season for the Battle Ground Village Outdoor Market.
