Citizens honored at BG meeting for heroic acts

Cherise Moore and Joseph Inman were recognized by Battle Ground Mayor Lisa Walters and Clark County Fire & Rescue Chief Dennis Mason at the Sept. 16 Battle Ground City Council meeting for their heroic acts that saved the lives of others.

On July 21, Moore was participating in a running marathon in Battle Ground. She came upon a fellow marathon runner, a stranger to her, lying on the sidewalk not breathing. Moore, a nurse, immediately provided aid, performing CPR until paramedics arrived. Her instant and selfless actions saved the man’s life and lead to his successful recovery according to emergency personnel.



Also on July 21 in Battle Ground, Joseph Inman witnessed a single-vehicle accident in which the car became engulfed in flames. Inman, at great personal risk, kicked in the car’s window to open the door and pulled the occupant to safety. Inman’s immediate and selfless act saved the man’s life according to emergency personnel.
