Commission on Aging focuses on transportation, mobility needs for those 60 and older

Posted

The Clark County Commission on Aging is focusing this year on supportive services, especially for people 60 and older. Transportation allows residents of all ages and abilities to connect with others and maintain independence. It is a hallmark of a livable community.

The year-long focus will educate and raise awareness about future transportation and mobility challenges and solutions that could help Clark County's older residents age in their homes and neighborhoods for as long as possible.

Meetings are at 4:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month in the sixth-floor Hearing Room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

The commission has invited experts to speak on the specific topics. Members then will discuss the topic and answer questions from the audience.
