HARPERS TACKLE & Outdoor Swap Meet Tackle Sale will be Sat., Aug. 22, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at Harpers Tackle & Outdoor rear parking lot, 267 Millard Ave., Woodland. CO-FOUNDER OF MOVE To Amend will come to Vancouver Wed., Aug. 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Clark County Genealogical Society Annex, 715 Grand Blvd., Vancouver. Getting the influence of big money out of our political system is an increasing concern across the political spectrum in Clark County and across the nation. As part of a growing movement to address that issue, David Cobb, a nationally recognized figure, is coming to Vancouver. His appearance is open to the public. STEWARDSHIP SATURDAY at Columbia Springs will be Sat., Aug. 29, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at Columbia Springs, 12208 SE Evergreen Highway, Vancouver. This family friendly event is a great opportunity for community members and families to participate in restoration activities and projects that improve Columbia Springs’ 100-acre natural area and the historic Vancouver Trout Hatchery. Projects may include gardening, painting, cleaning, invasive species removal and more. We conclude the day with a fun activity. Education

TIGERLAND PRESCHOOL: Registration is open for the 2015-16 school year. Two- and three-day programs are located on the campuses of Captain Strong Primary and Yacolt Primary. Tigerland is designed to prepare early learners for their kindergarten experience. The program is designed with the individual child’s learning style in mind. The curriculum reflects, but is not limited to, the Five Domains as listed in the Washington State Early Learning and Development Benchmarks. Health & Fitness

FALL RUNNING CLUB: Work on improving pace and endurance through running and strengthening exercises with an opportunity for the team to compete against other teams in the 5,000-meter Harvest Classic road race Sat., Oct 3, in Longview. As well as the All-Comer Cross Country Meet at Overlook Park in Portland on Oct. 22. There is still a program at Amboy that starts Sept. 8 at the middle school, and a program in Battle Ground that starts Sept. 9 at the Lewisville Gym. Practices will consist of conditioning/strengthening exercises and then running practice. Amboy  meets from 3:40-5:10 p.m., Battle Ground meets from 3:15-4:45 p.m., cost is $80. MORNING FITNESS CLASSES: 12- and eight-class punch cards are available through Community Education for Zumba/Zumba Toning/Glutes, Core, Cardio morning fitness classes at the Lewisville Gym. Zumba is a fitness program inspired by latin music and dance that combines rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. On Saturdays, join Certified National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer Kim Witherspoon for a class focusing on strengthening and toning the upper/lower body and abdominal muscles. This is a complete body workout. Classes are on Tuesdays/Thursday mornings from 9-10 a.m., and Saturday morning from 8-9:30 a.m. You can come as many times as you would like. 12-class punch is $81, eight-class punch is $56. Sports & Recreation

KARATE: Ages 8 through adult. Affiliated with the Japan Karate Federation and USA-NKF. Learn basic Kata and Kumite with emphasis on self-discipline and self-improvement. This is an ongoing program. Beginners: 7-8 p.m.; Advanced: 8-9 p.m.  Fall season starts Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 24, class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lewisville Gym, cost is $50.
