‘Boots and Bites’ auction fundraiser

On Saturday, Sept. 9, Silver Buckle Ranch will be hosting its third annual auction and barbecue event — Boots and Bites. Board of Director President Peggy Neikirk describes it as “an old-time ranch type of event.”

Neikirk said Boots and Bites is set to last from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at the ranch, located at 11611 NE 152nd Ave., Brush Prairie. During the event, there will be live and silent auctions, dinner featuring pulled pork and baked beans, live music from the band “ZBT” and drinks. There will also be a showcase and presentation from Silver Buckle Ranch leaders.

“We’re a nonprofit and this is our big fundraiser for the year,” Neikirk said.

Neikirk said funds raised from Boots and Bites will go toward scholarships for kids in Silver Buckle programs.

“A lot of kids don’t have the opportunity to have this experience of being around horses and getting their hands dirty on a ranch, especially as Clark County continues to get more urban” Neikirk said.

Tickets to Boots and Bites can be purchased at bootsandbites.brownpapertickets.com for a price of $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight.
