FRIENDS OF THE LA CENTER Community Library will hold their annual Our Days book sale at the library, 1411 NE Lockwood Creek Road, on Sat., Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Non-children’s hardback books will be $1 and non-children’s paperback books will be 50 cents. OLD LIBERTY THEATER in Ridgefield will be the site of a concert Sat., Oct. 30, by Scotland’s Music United. VA VA VOOM call for talent auditions will be Tue., Sept. 2 and Thu., Sept. 4, 11 a.m., at the Barberton Grange, 9400 NE 72nd Ave., Vancouver. Va Va Voom is beginning rehearsals for the production of “Not Your Grandma’s Christmas,” which is what the audtions are for. BATTLE GROUND COMMUNITY Education will offer a fresh new lineup of Yoga classes for the 2014-15 year starting in September. All classes are held at the Battle Ground Parks and Recreation location. Yoga Foundations for Beginners is designed for true beginners and will focus on proper alignment and connecting breath to movement. Vinyasa Yoga for All Levels where movement is linked to breath to form a continuous flow. STAGE MAKEUP AND COSTUMES (Zombies), class is for ages 12 and up. This is a  one-day workshop teaching the basics of costuming and stage makeup and how to create fake bruises, scars, scrapes and open wounds. This workshop is perfect for creating a “zombie look”.
