Local no-kill pet shelter Furry Friends is set to participate in the fundraising event Giving Tuesday.
The online fundraising event, which takes place on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a charitable movement with the mission to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.
This year, Furry Friends is hoping to raise at least $6,000 for feline medical expenses on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Because Furry Friends is a no-kill shelter, medical expenses are extremely high. The shelter spent more than $126,000 caring for cats in 2018 alone. Those interested in contributing to Furry Friends for #GivingTuesday can visit furryfriends.org/donate/ or go to the Furry Friends Facebook page at facebook.com/furry
friendswa.
