MUTTON BUSTERS WANTED for the 2015 Vancouver Rodeo, July 2 at 7 p.m., July 3 at 7 p.m., July 4 at 1 p.m. and July 5 at 1 p.m. Championships for top three finishers from July 2, 3 and 4. There is a 50-pound weight limit, must be 3 years of age or older. Limited to 10 riders per day. For advance registration for this free event, contact Cindy at larsoncindyl@aol.com.

Health & Fitness

KP WALKERS walking group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m., at Kiwanis Park, 400 SW 2nd Ave., Battle Ground. Along the paved walking path is the Battle Ground location for the brand new Veterans Memorial. All veterans are invited to come out, view the wall and walk with the KP Walkers. Walkers of all ages and walking speeds are welcome to this landscaped 1/4-mile path. Rain or shine. Fun, friendship and fitness for the summer season. This is a free activity. Fundraisers

WOODLAND GRANGE FUNDRAISER: First ever Grange Gala will be Fri., May 29, doors open 6:30 p.m., show is 7-8:30 p.m., at the grange, 404 Davidson Ave., Woodland. Local talent getting together to raise funds for the grange. There will be live music, Woodland Dance School, Zumba Kids, silent auction and raffle and door prizes. Winners will be announced following the show. Tickets are $10, free entry for children ages 9 and younger. Tickets on sale now at the Woodland Visitor Center, Lewis River Dental, Woodland Yoga & Zumba and at the door. Proceeds go towards re-siding and painting Woodland’s historic grange hall. Education

BI-ZI FARMS Jam & Bread Class for Kids will be Sat., May 30, 10 a.m.-noon, at Bi-Zi Farms, 9504 NE 119th St., Vancouver. In this class designed just for children, each student will make a batch of berry freezer jam and a loaf of bread to take home and bake. Class is for ages 9-16 years old. Cost is $20 per person. DISASTER PREPAREDNESS SEMINAR will be held Sat., June 6, 1-5 p.m., at Cherry Grove Church, 9100 NE 219th St., Battle Ground. Open to the community, contributions are optional. Speaker will be Corey Fisher, who has a master’s degree in public health with special emphasis on disaster preparation and intervention. FIRST AID & CPR Certification: This course will cover adult/child/infant CPR, AED and Basic Emergency First Aid, such as choking, control of bleeding and managing shock. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certification card that is valid for two years. Class is June 18, 6-9 p.m., at Lewisville. Cost is $49. Ask about group discount rates. GERMAN CONVERSATION for all ages: The goal of class is to learn and practice the following: Understand, pronounce, speak, read and write basic German phrases in a multi-generational setting which simulates natural situations, such as greetings, introductions, shopping, learning about German food, asking for directions, playing games, calendar and animal vocabulary. Class meets Tues., starting June 23 at Lewisville, 10-11 a.m. Cost is $25 or $45 total for child 8 and younger with participating parent. PRAIRIE GIRLS BASKETBALL Camp: For grades first through eighth. The goal of the Prairie Girls Basketball camp is to help young players learn the fundamentals of basketball, develop good habits and expand their talents. Players will be given a week of exciting basketball and an opportunity to improve their dribbling, shooting, passing and much more. Players of all levels are welcome. Campers will get a T-shirt. Runs June 22-25 at Prairie High School Main Gym. First through fourth graders’ time is 9-11 a.m., cost is $85. For those fifth through eighth grade, time is noon-3 p.m., cost is $110. PACIFIC SOCCER CLUB First Annual Golf Tournament will be Mon., June 1, 1-6 p.m., at Tri Mountain Golf Course, 1701 NW 299th St., Ridgefield. CALL TO ARTISTS: Gallery 360 at the Slocum House invites artists to submit entries for their upcoming July juried exhibition, “Art on Wheels.” Artists are invited to submit up to three entries featuring trains, planes, automobiles and anything with wheels.
