Kathmandu, 11, is one of many pets currently available for adoption at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. According to staff, she prefers a quieter home with no kids under the age of six or other cats and is indoor only.

Tickets are now on sale for Southwest Washington Humane Society’s Cheers! event which will be held at the end of this month in Portland’s Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
The fundraiser will feature 200 different wines from local, national and international wineries. Appetizers will also be served.
After tasting some of the wines, visitors can purchase their favorites to take home. All proceeds from entry fees and a portion of every bottle purchased benefits dogs and cats at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
“This is a great event to attend with a group of friends as you sample an array of wines and tempting bites,” stated Denise Barr, vice president of marketing at Southwest Washington Humane Society, in a news release. “Every bottle available at Cheers! will have an almost-impossible-to-beat price. Whether you’re a wine aficionado or novice, this is the perfect time to buy a few bottles or stock the entire cellar — all while helping to care for shelter animals.”
