‘The Great Catsby’ dinner auction set for Sept. 19

The seventh annual “Great Catsby” dinner and auction fundraiser for Furry Friends will be held Sat., Sept. 19, 5-9 p.m., at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Ave., Vancouver.

This annual event promises fun and entertainment, with celebrity guest Joe English from KATU, silent and live auctions, raffle, no-host wine and beer, dinner provided by Summerland Catering and a “Gatsby period” costume contest. Event sponsors are Kathy Angelo Construction, Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery and Iron Gate Storage.

Menu for the evening will include both veggie lasagna and traditional lasagna, lemon chicken, green veggies, tossed salad with fruit and assorted breads.

“The Great Catsby” themed dinner auction will feature items such as a hotel stay, wine tasting tours, twosomes at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club and other golf packages, four-day Cancun vacation for two adults and two children, four Disneyland Park-Hopper tickets, Southwest travel voucher for two and more.

Furry Friends is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless and abused cats in Clark County. “The Great Catsby” fundraiser is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Furry Friends.
