Meet Moe: Moe is a 1-year-old male Spaniel Terrier mix. He came to the foster home because he was extremely frightened and timid at the shelter. He is about 11 pounds has a beautiful silky coat. Once in foster, he immediately warmed up to his foster family. He is very smart and a happy little dog when he is around his people. He is affectionate and loves to be stroked on his stomach. Moe has moderate energy and loves to go out for a daily walk. He walks well on leash and loves to explore. He is somewhat protective of his foster family and anxious around other animals, however as he is exposed to more situations and feels more at ease, his fearfulness has greatly lessened. Moe can be nervous in new situations and would do best with a set routine. No kids under the age of 12 and bring older children and dogs to meet him. Moe will make a great companion in a quiet home where he can overcome his anxiety and bloom into a wonderful family dog. If interested in meeting him, email Jennifer at JRylander@southwesthumane.org to set up an appointment.

The adoption fee for adult dogs, ages 6 months to 6 years, is usually $100-$200.

Meet Cubby: Cubby is a 9-year-old Australian shepherd mix who came to the Adoption Center with her best friend Gigi, when her owner could no longer care for her. Cubby is a mellow and gentle girl; she enjoys going on walks and being around her person. Cubby has lived with Gigi since she was 6 weeks old; they are best friends and must go home together. Cubby will need a quiet home with older children. If you have children over the age of 10 or other dogs at home, bring them down to meet her. Ask how you can meet Cubby and Gigi today.

The adoption fee for senior dogs, ages 7 years old and older, is usually $50-$75.

Meet Gigi: Gigi is a happy-go-lucky 11-year-old Miniature Poodle. Gigi still has plenty of love and energy to give. She is housetrained and is best friends (nine years running) with an Australian shepherd named Cubby. Gigi would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 and she would like to meet any dogs or children with whom she may be living. Come Meet Gigi and Cubby today.

The adoption fee for senior dogs, ages 7 years old and older, is usually $50-$75.

Meet Nala: Nala is  a 3-year-old domestic short hair tortoiseshell. She had to be surrendered to the shelter by her owner, who is actually a staff member there,, when her living situation changed and she had to seek a new home for her cats. Nala has lived with large-breed dogs, other cats, and young children and she is just an all-around awesome cat, but it does take her a little time to adjust to new surroundings, so you’ll want to give her a slow introduction to her new home. If you have children, bring them in to meet Nala. She should be just fine with your kids. If you’d like to meet Nala, ask for a social today.

The adoption fee for adult cats, ages 6 months to 6 years, is usually $50.

Meet Samson: Samson is a 7-year-old domestic short hair brown tabby with white. He needs a new home where he can have a slow introduction to any other cats in the family and his new environment in general. He would do best in a home without young kids as he doesn’t care for being picked up and carried around a whole lot. He’s got an active and spunky personality and may fit in well in a home where he can be and indoor / outdoor cat to enable him to really burn off some of his daily energy. Samson seems to be pretty dog reactive in his kennel at the Petco store and may need a home without dogs. Samson is currently available for adoption offsite. If you’d like to meet with Samson, email Feline Assistant Supervisor at RMesserschmidt@Southwesthumane.org to arrange to meet him.

The adoption fee for senior cats, 7 years old and older, is usually $25.
