Yacolt will become a bustling town as people flock to the community to celebrate this year’s Rendezvous Days, which features events on three days.

The festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 30, with a kickball tournament at the Little League fields. All ages are welcome to participate.

Then on Saturday, July 1, events will span the gamut and offer a full day of fun.

The day will kick off with the Bigfoot Fun Run 5K and 10K at 9 a.m.

At 11 a.m. on July 1, the outdoor vendor market will open at Yacolt Central Park. A sidewalk chalk art contest will also start at that time. The event is open to four age categories: those who are 4 years old and younger, kids 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years old and 13 and older.

At noon on July 1, Yacolt Mayor Katie Listek will lead the opening ceremonies, which will include the national anthem, the introduction of the grand marshal and the civic responsibility award.

At 1 p.m., a block party will begin. There will be a bounce house, lawn games and sprinklers.

“Get comfortable and spend the day with your friends and family,” states the official schedule of events.

Then at 4 p.m. on July 1, the office chair races will begin, which will be followed by a watermelon eating contest at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., there will be sack races, tug-o-war and hula hooping.

The day will close out with a “music and dance” event at the town square at Yacolt Central Park, which starts at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, July 2, the “Hellz Bellz” Ultra Marathon will begin at Hantwick Trailhead at 6 a.m.

No events are scheduled for Monday, July 3, but on Tuesday, July 4, the Independence Day parade will begin at 11 a.m.

The winners will be announced following the conclusion of the parade at the Little League fields.

The entry fee for the parade is $10 and a signed waiver is required to participate.

The entry fee for vendors at the outdoor vendor market cost $5 per vendor, while the Bigfoot Fun Run entry fees are $40 for the 5K or $50 for the 10K. Those who register for the runs will receive a T-shirt, a participation medal and a “swag bag.”

To participate in the kickball tournament, the fee is $10 per team, which can range in size from five to 10 people. A signed waiver is required for participation. All of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to NCLL.

The “Hellz Bellz” Ultra Marathon has an entry fee of $130. It includes camping, a shuttle, a post-race meal, a finisher award, additional swag and more.

There is no cost to participate in the sidewalk chalk art contest, the office chair races or the watermelon eating contest.
