Middle and high school students throughout Clark County are invited to create fun and impactful short videos to inspire stewardship of the community’s water resources.

Stormwater Partners of Southwest Washington will host the fourth annual Students for Clean Water Student Video Contest. Stormwater Partners is a coalition of local agencies and organizations, including Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver and Washougal.

Students currently in sixth through 12th grade can submit 25- to 60-second videos on topics related to water. Videos are due by April 22, and winners will be announced May 30.

Local organizations are sponsoring five first-place prizes of $500 each and five honorable mention prizes of $100 each. One first-place prize and one honorable mention prize will be awarded in each of five categories:

• Protecting Water in Our Community, a 25 to 40-second or 45 to 60-second video about stormwater facilities or water pollution.

• Community Storytelling, a 45 to 60-second video about the student’s personal or cultural connection to water.

• Clean Water for All, 45 to 60-second video exploring environmental justice related to water resources.
