Volunteer positions open for Woodland city commissions

The City of Woodland is seeking volunteers for two of its commissions.

Applications for the Civil Service Commission will be accepted until April 12. Applications to serve on the Woodland Planning Commission will be accepted until May 10.

The Civil Service Commission works with the police department, ensuring rules and regulations are implemented and followed regarding administrative activities, such as exams, promotions, reinstatements and suspensions.

Volunteers meet at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month and serve six-year terms.



The Planning Commission conducts public hearings related to city development and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding things like subdivisions, rezoning and Conditional Use Permits.

Volunteers meet at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month and serve four-year terms.
