In July, Sue Cameron, of Vancouver, was appointed to the Advisory Council of the Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington (AAADSW). She previously served on the advisory council and will return after meeting her term limit requirements, stated a news release.

The release said she has 20 years of public health experience as a department administrator and sanitarian for the Tillamook County Health Department. Cameron also has experience with long-range planning, management of professional staff, support staff and volunteers for 26 years. She wrote grants for many nonprofit health and human service agencies, the release stated.

Additionally, she has raised funds for the United Way, as well as state and local political campaigns.

In the release, Cameron said she will bring her experience on many national, state and local boards including the State Council on Aging to her work on the Advisory Council. She will also work to advocate for seniors, insure meal services, transportation and support caregivers.

Cameron encourages new members to get involved and help her on her agency plan.
