Maia Taylor, a ninth grade Woodland homeschool student, paged in the Washington State House of Representatives in Olympia, Feb. 12 through Feb. 16.

District Rep. Ed Orcutt sponsored her week.

“Maia was a great help to legislators in conducting our work. I was glad to sponsor her and pleased to get a chance to know her and her ambitions. She seemed to have a strong interest in the legislative process and was eager to learn about the work we do,” Orcutt said in a news release. “I hope the week she spent here was as helpful to her as her help was to us.”

The Woodland student paged during the sixth week of the 60-day legislative session, which began Jan. 8. She assisted the Washington State House of Representatives with duties on the chamber floor, made deliveries around the Capitol campus, and supported the offices of members.

Taylor also attended Page School where she learned more about the Legislature and how its processes work, a news release by Washington State House Republican Communications stated.
