Ridgefield seeks applicants for Parks Board and Planning Commission

The City of Ridgefield is seeking volunteers to fill vacant positions on the Parks Board and Planning Commission. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on April 29.

The Parks Board advises the City Council on park planning and acquisition within the current city limits and urban growth boundary, and the Planning Commission advises the City Council on planning, development and growth issues for the community.

Parks Board members serve three-year terms, and must regularly attend meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

Planning Commission members serve four-year terms and must regularly attend meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.

Volunteers interested in the positions must reside within the city limits. To apply, candidates must submit a completed application with a cover letter and a description of what the two to three city priorities should be. Submitting a resume is optional.

Both planning commissioners and Parks Board members are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by City Council.
