The Ridgefield Family Resource Center has been honored with the “Make a Difference” Award by the City of Ridgefield, a press release by the Ridgefield School District announced recently.

City members presented Family Resource Center coordinator Chris Poppert with the award and a bouquet. Her “exceptional contributions, community involvement and dedication to families in need” have made a difference in Ridgefield, the press release stated.

The “Make a Difference” award is given to persons or organizations deserving of recognition for contributions and commitments within Ridgefield by the Ridgefield Roundtable. The top three nominees are awarded each year. Winners were recognized during the 2024 State of the City on Tuesday, March 19.

“I am so appreciative of our schools and community for all that they do for the Family Resource Center in enabling us to support families,” Poppert said. “It is very important to me that our community understands that our volunteers are essential to our efforts, and we could not do this without them and their support.”

The Ridgefield Family Resource Center aims to meet the needs of students and families by providing food, personal care items and additional resources. To learn more, visit ridgefieldsd.org/page/family-resource-center.
