PeaceHealth was recently named the number one healthiest employer in Washington state for organizations with 5,000 people or more and was named one of the healthiest 100 workplaces in America.

More than 10,000 employers from across the country participate in the annual awards program put on by Healthiest Employers and Springbuk, stated a news release.

Similar sized employers who participate in the contest are compared and evaluated on their employee participation, health outcomes and leadership commitment, among other things.

The release stated PeaceHealth provides its caregivers with a holistic benefits package that includes an in-house mental health support program, alongside an integrated employee assistance program.

“These benefits are designed to support mental, spiritual, physical, legal and financial well-being,” stated the release.

Caregivers can take part in a voluntary wellness program to access short-term and long-term health, nutrition, stress management and physical fitness resources. PeaceHealth also offers child care access assistance to its caregivers as well as funds when they experience a crisis or emergency.

PeaceHealth ranked No. 31 in the nation and was one of four health systems in the region that received the national designation, marking the fifth year in a row the Vancouver-based health system made the list. It’s also the fourth year in a row that PeaceHealth received the top ranking in Washington.

“Our caregivers continue to show an exceptional commitment to providing quality and compassionate care to our patients. In return, they deserve nothing less than whole-person care and proactive solutions that meet their needs,” Sarah Ness, the executive vice president of people and culture, stated. “We are so proud to offer support to our caregivers and their families through our employee health and wellness programs.”
