A juvenile domestic assault prompted a multi-agency law enforcement presence in southern Battle Ground on Thursday, April 18.

Residents in the area of the 1600 block of Southwest Fourth Avenue of Battle Ground took to social media asking about the large police presence that blocked them into their cul-de-sac.

According to the Pulsepoint app, a call came out at 8:49 a.m. Thursday, April 18, for a medical emergency at the location of a large response from the Battle Ground Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Clark County Fire District 3 and American Medical Response (AMR) assisted with medical services at the scene. Medical personnel were cleared from the scene at 9:25 a.m.

A juvenile with autism experienced a mental health episode that led him to assault his mother, who needed to be transported to the hospital, BGPD Lieutenant James Keller said at the scene. No use of force was required by law enforcement, Keller said. He added the juvenile was set to be booked into juvenile detention on a felony assault charge.
