Mark your calendar: WSU Master Gardener online workshops for November

For the first two weeks of November, WSU Master Gardeners will hold free online programs. All that’s required is a Zoom account and internet connection. The classes will end after Nov. 10 because of the holidays, according to WSU Master Gardener Gary Fredricks.

Affordable landscaping at noon on Nov. 2

WSU Master Gardener Wendy Santiago will teach effective landscaping design techniques. Whether it’s in the street or in the comfort of your backyard, Santiago will teach people how to get it right the first time. You will also learn how to refine the shape, functionality, color and balance of your landscape efficiently.

Critter control pests in your garden at 6 p.m. on Nov. 3



If you struggle with pests eating away at your garden or resting in your attic, WSU Master Gardener Art Fuller has you covered. He’ll show you how to keep your home protected and less enticing to any unwanted critters.

Winter care of houseplants at noon on Nov. 9

Growing plants in your home may be difficult, but WSU Master Gardener Kate Martin will show you it’s not impossible. She’ll discuss the type of plants that can successfully grow in the winter, how to care for them, and how to avoid any potential problems typically encountered with indoor plants.

Bonsai for beginners at 6 p.m. on Nov. 10

For anyone with a fascination for Bonsai trees, WSU Master Gardener Trisha Bonapace will instruct you how to start caring for one the right way. There will be a free 25 minute presentation after the demonstration, which will allow participants to ask questions.
