Local agencies partner for Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Arthur D. Curtis Justice Center (CJC) will partner with Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries (FVRL) to host a series of events recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

FVRL will have displays and children’s book lists to provide parents with resources to get kids more aware of their own safety.

CJC employees will be on hand during story time sessions at several libraries to answer questions and provide resources regarding child safety. A complete list of the sessions is available on the FVRLibraries website at shorturl.at/cvBSV.

Vancouver Police officer Rob Givens will give a presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 15 at Cascade Park Community Library, 600 NE 136th Ave., Vancouver, for parents on the reality of cybercrimes against children. Parents can attend in person or online. For more information, visit fvrl.librarymarket.com/node/136120.

To further awareness, CJC encourages people to wear blue for kids on April 5 in recognition of the month and post pictures or selfies on social media using the hashtag #wearblue4kids.
