I just ran across an old edition of the Reflector and knew why I had saved it. It said that a YMCA would be coming to Battle Ground soon. So I looked at the date: 2017. Seven years is soon?
Many years ago my friend approached the City Council about a pool but was told we couldn’t have one because of the liability. So they built a skate park instead. Make sense?
I am a swimmer — daily at Battle Ground Lake in the summer. But in the other seasons I have to drive at least 20 minutes each way to get to a pool. Driving takes longer than swimming the 3/4 mile. A town this size — and growing rapidly — NEEDS a pool. Pools serve all age groups. Anyone who agrees, please speak up if you can figure out who to contact.
