Letter to the editor: Bi-Zi Farms deserve to be issued water rights

Posted

I want to voice my support for issuing needed water right to Bi-Zi Farms in Brush Prairie. This family-owned small farm is a gem in Clark County. It is only one of a few left here. It seems to me (and I have lived here 34 years) that development of dense housing is out of control here. Traffic is now crazy.

Other previous small farms are now housing developments. There should be some law requiring small farms and businesses to have an advantage over developers. Bi-Zi farms is visited by thousands every year, families yearning for the country farm, fruits and vegetables and pumpkin patch kids have enjoyed for generations. I am sure the county or state will make much more money with development rather than small farms. It is always about the money. We need to prioritize open spaces and small farms amongst the out-of-control development.
