Let's continue to support education in Ridgefield

Posted

When I moved to Ridgefield 15 years ago I was unaware of all that it had to offer. It’s a safe and friendly community that still has that small town feel but most importantly, it makes education a priority. There’s been substantial growth in my time here but Ridgefield has been steadfast when it comes to keeping the education of its youth a top priority.

The schools offer a variety of programs for kids and the list of options is growing by the year. This allows our youth the unique opportunity to learn and try new things and broaden their education. People always talk about sports, but the arts, computer science, and community education offerings have all grown tremendously giving more kids more opportunities.

The Ridgefield School District is reaching out to voters and asking for a very fiscally responsible bond that would add a new K-4 school, a new classroom building at Ridgefield High School, renovation of our outdated Vocational Education Facility, additional security upgrades and covered play areas for our elementary schools.

The cost of these additional facilities is nominal at only 0.09 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. This equates to one cup of coffee a month for the average homeowner. Let’s keep Ridgefield a place where we continue to put education of our kids a priority. Please mark your ballot with a “yes” vote for Ridgefield schools in February.
