Bertena Marie Hill (Thompson) was born in Bremerton, Washington, to Dorothy May Gernander (Thompson) of Duluth, Minnesota, and Joseph Bernard Thompson, from Crocker, Washington.
In March 1981, she married Jack Elmer Hill from Pomona, California, and they resided in Amboy, Washington, for 23 years.
She grew up and graduated from White Pass High School in Randle, Washington.
Survivors include one brother,Joseph Barry "Joe" Thompson (Linda), of Randle, Washington; a nephew, Frederick Gailord; and a niece, Crystal Lynn, with family.
A gravesite burial was held at noon Dec. 8, 2023, at Northeast 206th Avenue in the Cedar Creek Road Amboy cemetery.
