Betty Carolyn (Smith) Otos was born May 19, 1931, in Clark County, Vancouver, Washington. She grew up on the family farm in Brush Prairie, graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1949 and from Clark Community College in 1951 with an associate’s degree as Associated Student Body secretary.
Betty passed away June 17, 2023, and will rest in the arms of the Lord alongside her husband, Gordon Francis Otos, in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Betty is survived by her sons Randy Otos (Marva Lee), David Otos (Kari), Clifford Otos (Kathy); daughter Debora (Otos) Anderson; two granddaughters, six grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Ruth Smith; brother, C. Orlin Smith; sisters Eva (Smith) Wingert, Ruth (Smith) Talerico; and husband, Gordon Otos.
On July 29, a memorial service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 12919 NE 159th St., Brush Prairie, WA, 98606, at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. A livestream of the service can be accessed at: www.bethel brushprairie.org/livestream.
