Randy N. Kemp passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the age of 70, at his home in La Center, Washington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Teresa; his son, Joshua (Shawnee); his daughters, Katherine (Katie) Abrego (Walter) and Jennifer Lewman (Matthew); and grandchildren, Mercedes (Mercy) Abrego, Brianna Johnson (Dexter), Montana Santamaria, (Joel) Courtney Kemp, Joshua Abrego, Kaiyah Kemp, Leanna Reece and Kathryn Reece.

Randy was born in Portland, Oregon, to Inez and Norman Kemp on May 20, 1953, He graduated from Columbia River High School in 1971. He and his wife, Teresa, were foster care parents for 13 years for the state of Washington. He retired from D&D Door in 2014 after working there for 20 years. He was a member of the carpenters’ union. He was also handy working with wood, making special things for his grandchildren, a true jack of all trades. They retired to Ocean Park, Washington, and then later moved back to Castle Rock, when his health started to decline. He enjoyed his retirement years, traveling, fishing, hunting, camping, reading and volunteering at Compassion 360, where he enjoyed greeting the guests who came for services. He was also a longstanding member of Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene, where he enjoyed singing in the Singing Christmas Tree and the Singing Cross. He also taught Sunday school and Caravans for the children of the church.

We celebrated with a living memorial service on Dec. 2, 2023, as Randy wanted to be able to say goodbye to his friends and family. There will not be another service.
