Leighten John Cormican of LaCenter passed away Oct. 31, 2023 after a long time in failing health, surrounded by his family and the Lord. Leighten John was born in Crookston, Minnesota on Oct. 25, 1966 to Lila (Eisert) Cormican and LeRoy E. Cormican. He was the third of four children.
Leighten graduated from Sultan High School in 1985. He began his career working for a Seattle contractor. After a time Leighten began his own contracting company, which he continued for his entire career.
“John” loved riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, boating and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, his beloved grandchildren and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
John and Lisa (Nettles) were married in 1988. They have three children, Ashley (Phil), Lance (Jaylene), and John T. (Courtney).
John and Lisa were blessed with 5 grandchildren, Matt, Clair, Lucy, Hudson and Dax. John loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart. They meant everything to him.
John is survived by his wife Lisa of 36 years, his 3 children, 5 grandchildren, his mother Lila, his sister LilAnne (Brian), his brother Lee, and his father LeRoy (Kathy). He is survived by 7 nephews, Robert, Bryan, Kyle, Kody, Jason, Dusty and Jake.He is preceded in death by his oldest brother Lance Cormican in 1965. He is survived by his loving kitties Maverik and Precious.
A remembrance service will be held at a later date.
