Kathie Malone passed away on April 26, 2024, at home with family.
She was born in California to Dick and Claire Stevenson in 1948. Kathie graduated from the University of Washington and became an occupational therapist working with children. She married Doug Malone in 1978 and had two children before moving to Battle Ground, Washington. After retiring from a long career with the Battle Ground School District, she spent her time volunteering for the Humane Society of Southwest Washington and the Venersborg Community Club.
She had an adventurous and kind spirit and loved to travel with Doug and family to places near and far. She especially loved animals, devoting thousands of hours of her time to walking dogs, fostering rabbits and other work for the Humane Society.
Kathie was diagnosed with brain cancer in early 2024. She leaves behind her husband, son, daughter, brother, sister, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and two beloved grandchildren.
A private burial was held at the White Eagle Memorial Preserve per Kathie’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Southwest Washington in her name.
