In loving memory of Karen Scott: 1959-2023

Posted

With broken hearts, many tears and not enough time, we said goodbye for now to our matriarch, Karen Sharleen Scott, loving wife of Bill, mother of Jennifer and son-in-law Shawn, grandmother of Marisa, Jake, Kaitlyn, Dani and Cash, great-grandmother of Elijah, dearest sister, aunt and friend to so many others.

Karen gained her wings and Heaven received a most precious angel Feb. 16, 2023, while at her home of 46 years surrounded by her family after undiagnosed cancer took her too soon.

She was born in Warm Springs, Montana, Nov. 3, 1959, and lived in Clark County area throughout her lifetime where her father Cassious built their home and coached her in Little League. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cassious L. Scott and Sharleen McCallum Scott.

Many will remember her infectious laugh, gorgeous smile and quick wit greeting them at some point as she never met a stranger and treated all as friends. She worked hard, played hard and loved even harder. All who knew her were bound to never forget her.

A private celebration of life will be held in her honor, followed by a naval ceremony at sea to be deployed from the Bremerton naval yards where generations of our Scott family lived and served. She was very proud of her sailor husband Bill who served aboard the USS Enterprise. Her Scottish heritage was very important to her and the family's military service and sacrifice for their country was an honor she held dear.

Farewell for now, mom. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Your legacy remains with us and we will honor your spirit every day.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal. - Gaelic blessing, author unknown
