In loving memory of Donald H. Monfort: 1934-2022

Donald (Don) Monfort passed away July 21, 2022. He was 88 years old, born in Huron, South Dakota to John and Ruth Monfort.

Don is survived by his wife, Clare, sons Bob (Wendy) and Cary (Debbie), daughters, Donna Lealos and Jennifer (Mike) Carrell, stepsons, Jim Lindberg, Dan (Lori), Joe (Melissa), Wayne (Heidi), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Thames, stepdaughter, Jean Sharp, and granddaughter, Sarianne.

Don graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1952. He lived a life of service beginning with the U.S. Air Force and retiring from the City of Vancouver after 26 years. He loved the farm and raised pigs and cows. He enjoyed people, travel, horses and singing. He was known in the community for his singing and greeting. He was the official greeter at Four C's Produce, St. Mary's and he helped start the Moose Lodge singing program. He spent countless hours singing at local retirement facilities and recently at the Battle Ground Senior Citizens luncheons.

Don was a faithful servant at St. Mary’s and loved the Lord. He was very patriotic and always started his singing performances with “God Bless America.” He was a devoted family man who greatly loved his time with them all.

Rosary will start at 11:30 a.m. on July 30, 2022. Mass and funeral will start at noon, with gravesite and reception to follow at St. Marys in Ridgefield, Washington.
