In loving memory of Charles Lane Boling: 1939-2021

Posted

Charles Lane Boling was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Upland, California, to Claude Shirley and Alvena Mary (Pointer) Boling. He married Deloris Louise Grow in 1961 and they lived in the southwestern U.S. until 1989 when they moved to Vancouver, Washington.

He drove trucks professionally until he was incapacitated by a ruptured brain aneurysm in 1992, moved to Battle Ground and began a long road to recovery. In later years he delighted in visiting and playing with his grandchildren, or when COVID-19 restrictions prohibited that, talking to them on the phone and seeing them through the window. He will be missed by family and friends who knew him and appreciated his desire to share and help others.

Charles passed away on Sept. 10, 2021, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Deloris; children Sheila, of San Diego, Jenny (Marshall), of Idaho, Charles, of Kalama, and Crystal (Bevers), of Yakima; and 22 grandchildren. He will be interred at Crawford Cemetery. There will be no service. Those wishing to send flowers should consider sending them to his widow, who is unable to travel, c/o Highgate Senior Living in Yakima, Washington.
