In loving memory of Cecil “Earl” Garrett: 1932-2021

Cecil “Earl” Garrett passed away July 2, 2021 at Hospice Care Center in Salmon Creek, Washington, following a long battle with cancer. 

Earl was born Nov. 21, 1932 in Casville, Mo., to Cecil E. and Delphia Ellen (Pool) Garrett. Earl was the fifth and last child. He joined siblings Clarence, Leonard, Evelyn (Godfrey) and Norma Gene (Brunson). 

Delphia, Earl and his siblings moved to Woodland, Washington in 1942 to be near other family members. 

Earl and his siblings finished their high school education at Woodland High School. Earl was an enterprising young man. He delivered newspapers, mowed lawns and sold Kirby vacuums. In his later years he opened his own business in Anchorage, Alaska. For his retirement years, he enjoyed the sunshine in Hawaii and eventually settled back in Woodland, Washington. 

Cecil Earl was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn; his parents Cecil E Garrett and Delphia Walkemeyer; his stepfather H.I. Walkemeyer; brother Clarence Garrett; sister Evelyn Godfrey and half-brother David. 

Left to mourn his death are his children and their families Sandra, Kathy, Curtis, Rob, Steve, Lance, Troy, Alicia and Charlene, along with his step children Christine and Clay, his brother Leonard, his sister Norma and half-sister Lana, and many friends. 

Earl had requested that no services be held in his honor. His ashes will be put with his wife Carolyn and will be taken to a special camping spot in Kenai, Alaska.
