The 2015-2016 Hockinson High School Theatre Company will present “Always Blame the Butler,’’ a two-act play written by Hockinson student Matthew Phillips.

Phillips and fellow senior Anna Uusitalo will direct the performances, which will take place Thu., Jan. 21 through Sat., Jan. 23.

Phillips wrote the full 2-act play called as a senior project.  He and Uusitalo have been working the last several weeks directing their peers and overcoming many challenges.

“The script is the strongest script I have ever seen from my students and I am extraordinarily proud of their work,’’ said Greg Saum, Hockinson High School Film Studies teacher.

On the eve of graduation, three students at an internationally recognized butler academy face their greatest assignment yet – to host seven famous and eccentric guests for an entire evening, each personally selected by the half-crazed head instructor of the institution, Sir Ashley Winterbottom III.  The evening reaches a fever pitch however, when one of the guests ends up getting murdered.

As the evening tumbles towards its uproarious and suspenseful conclusion, the three heroes try to find the killer before they can strike again. This murder mystery comedy, filled with more than a few sly winks at current events.

The performances will be held at Hockinson High School, 16819 NE 159th St., Brush Prairie. The performances will be at 7 p.m. each night and a matinee performance will be offered at 1 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 23. Cost is $6 for general admission, $4 for students with ASB.
