History museum hosts walking tours across county

Clark County Historical Museum will host walking tours across Clark County from June to September to celebrate the people who helped shape the community.

This annual series of walks offers residents and visitors the opportunity to visit the most historically important neighborhoods and city centers in the county, an April 2 press release by the museum stated.

Guides will lead up to 30 people for approximately a mile, making frequent stops along the way to view buildings, tell stories and answer questions.

The following tours we be available for registration May 1:

• June 29: Old City Cemetery, Vancouver

• July 13: Celebrate Main Street of Historic Ridgefield

• July 27: Celebrate Main Street of Old Town Battle Ground

• Aug. 10: Celebrating Downtown Vancouver

• Aug. 24: (Her)Story: the Remarkable Women of Clark County

• Sept. 7: Celebrate Main Street of Downtown Camas

“Summer is the right time to wander through and learn the stories of people who have lived, worked and carved out their places in Clark County,” museum Executive Director Brad Richardson said in the press release. “Our history tours are a fascinating glimpse through the windows of time, offering a mix of memories, research and architectural details.”

Tours are free for museum members and cost $10 for non-members.
