Governor appoints Battle Ground resident to council

Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Battle Ground resident Ayodele Idowu to the Statewide Reentry Council in July. Idowu’s term is from July 12 through June 30, 2025. 

Boards and Commissions are designed to give Washingtonians a voice in their government and allow residents to influence decisions that shape the quality of life for all Washingtonians, according to a press release.



According to the governor’s website, the Statewide Reentry Council was created in 2016 to improve public safety and outcomes for individuals reentering the community. Services include increasing collaboration between local and state programs relevant to reentering the community; improving safety for victims and families; improving outcomes for people reentering communities; developing and monitoring statewide goals relevant to reentry; recommending system and policy changes to reentry systems and supports; reports to the state Legislature.
